Raised the Question
Consumers' broad general perceptions of a country, including its national characteristics, economic and political background, history, traditions, and representative products, combine to create an overall image or stereotype that is then attached to the products of that country.
Found the problem
China has been hailed as the world's factory in recent years. ‘Made in China’ is often used to describe a brand identity that is cheap and of poor quality.
Background research
Through my research, I found that ‘Made in China’ is supported by national policies; Chinese millennials have greatly increased their enthusiasm for ‘Made in China’; China has very good technical support in the Internet era of the 21st century.
Solving the problem
The survey results show that changing the identity of Made in China is a reasonable research direction and it is very meaningful. Therefore, I hope to change the negative identity of Made in China through brand design and online communities.
Mind Map
RESEARCH
According to China's global shipments in 2020, China's current exports of goods are no longer limited to the low-end manufacturing direction in people's perception. In fact, China’s current exports are the largest in terms of electronic machinery and equipment. However, since my target customers are Western millennials, I chose a few categories that suit my target demographic. They are: Electronic Devices, Furniture, Toys, Vehicles, Clothing, Games.
I visually designed the categories of these products, and finally I chose the abstract version to give people more imagination. These graphics will be used in the marketing design of each category.
Colour Palette of Six Categries
Sub Colours
I made the colours of the categories into gradients, these colours are very attractive. Due to the influence of the Internet, millennials are often engaged in electronic screen propaganda. Jumping colours can attract their attention more, so these colours can be used in the brand's sub colours.
Extended Graphics
I extracted the frame of the logo and designed auxiliary graphics. The logo can be infinitely extended vertically, giving people a strong memory point.
