DOUBLE IMAGE
New technologies emerge every day, and people are delighted with what the digital world has brought us. We can see the world's beauty through social mass media without leaving our homes in today's digital age. Reality overlaps the digital world currently. Digital photos are just a series of colour-coded images that lack interaction with actual objects. I want to study the relationship between people in virtual and real spaces and encourage people to step out of the virtual space to experience the existing space.
RESEARCH
Studies show that digital photos are easy to get but easy to lose unless we print them out and seal them. Pictures fall into two categories, organic and geometric. I decide to turn organic, emotional real sense into the geometry of the virtual to make both overlaps and understand the relationship.
I collected and studied some works of artists who handle photos processing and materials with visual solutions by collage and digital processing.
EXPERIMENT
Test 1
The collage can express people's confusion and fragmentation of virtual digital vision. Still, the scene is rather messy, the overall construction doesn't reflect beauty, and a large number of pictures make from monotonous, not convey the emotion well.
Test 2
Use software for visual experimentation, expressed in two forms, image stretching and colour block extraction. Image stretching conveys a fuzzy feel, the colour is messy, and the graphic expression is too emotional. I give it up. However, colour block extraction is more rational and cold, and colour memory is more explicit, meeting the topic's need.
DEVELOPMENT
Step 1
I like photography and would pick 40 of my photos from media with more interactive comments and good visual effects. Such additional information as time and place are listed.
Step 2
Colour is people’s most important visual imprint. I want to reorder the pictures by colours, making the whole book more suitable for automatic retrieval and categorization of photos, reinforcing the sense of confusion in the virtual world.
Step 3
a. The processing as to cut, hollow, typeset the photos and add textual and emotional descriptions, making the core the information too much of fragments.
b. The original copy of the photo is saved. It ensures the integrity of the scene and the emotional description of the context.
c. The time and place for the scene information is extracted, and a full page of immersive experience expresses the core idea of the theme.
Summary
After finishing three groups of experiments, I finally decided to go on with option c. I realize that less is more and should not depict the scene with self-consciousness as the core. People don’t have the same perception at different times, and the emotional content should be for readers to get.
